They like which ever Bible Storysongs cd we have in the car. They have their favorite songs and ask to hear them over and over. When my son David hears some of these songs, he asks me, “What does that mean?” and “Who is that?” and “Tell me about that”. The songs always start conversations.

They Are Learning the Bible Without Me Teaching Them!

We tried other children’s cd’s and we were never really that happy with the ones we bought. They would pile up and we didn’t listen to them. We would get songs stuck in our head that we didn’t want stuck in our heads and there would be certain ones that we didn’t want our kids to hear… but we love to get Bible Storysongs stuck in our head, I even love to get them stuck in my head and sing them around the house. It’s a wonderful thing! They are learning the stories of the Bible without me teaching them – they are just learning!

Pleased by Quality Musicianship and the Meaty Content of the Lyrics

I was pleased by the quality musicianship of the performers and the meaty content of the lyrics. BIBLICAL BASIS

Space constrains us here, but to get utterly invigorated, try using your concordance and looking up sing, sang, song, sung. 246 Bible verses (King James Version) - an overwhelming polemic!

SING: "And they sing a new song saying: You are worthy to take the scroll..." Revelation 5:9

SANG: "While the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy!" Job 38:7

SONG: "God my Maker, who gives songs in the night..." Job 35:10

SUNG: "And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives." Matthew 26:30

DON’T STIFLE THE SINGING

Missionaries who went to Russia after the Iron Curtain fell in 1991 reported a strange phenomenon. The new believers there were shocked to find out that Christians SING! It seems that under communism, talented children were funneled to the opera track, and none of the rest were taught any songs. How abnormal! It was so precious to these “new children” - of all ages - to have something to sing (and something to sing about)!

Ask any 4-year if he knows the ABC’s and you are likely to hear a song in response! And I hope you noticed that the too-familiar A-B-C’s song is to the tune “Twinkle, Twinkle” (begotten by a busy, inventive mom, no doubt!). Now two-year-olds learn the alphabet, even before the letters make any ‘reading sense’. Because singing teaches!

Chemistry students learn the Table of Elements by singing to Gilbert and Sullivan. So why not sing-memorize the 12 tribes of Israel, the 10 commandments, the 12 apostles, the items in the ark of the covenant, the beatitudes – and add heavenly value!

When Did the First Singing Take Place?

One of my favorite queries about singing is: WHEN did the first singing take place?

Answer: Job 38: 4a, 7a: “Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth … When the morning stars sang together?” (KJV)

The delightful significance of this is that SINGING was before the fall of man! It was invented, encouraged, and inspired by God Himself.

Parents! Are You Worried?

Is your child is growing up without a spiritual dimension? No spiritual heritage? No spiritual roots? Who is going to teach your children about God? And more importantly, what will they be telling your kids? Teachers at school are not allowed to talk about God. Television is certainly not doing it! If your parents didn't take the time to teach you about God, you won't have much to say to your own children and grandchildren.

What should we teach our children? The book of Deuteronomy, chapter 6:1-7 tells how important it is that "you, your sons and your grandsons" should fear God and love God all the days of your life.

Actually the following verses tell us clearly how to teach them, when to teach them, where to teach them and what to teach them!

4 Hear, O Israel, Jehovah is our God; Jehovah is one. (Teach them about God!)
5 And you shall love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. (Love God with your entire being!)
6 And these words, which I command you today, shall be upon your heart; (Take this seriously!)
7 And you shall repeat them to your children, and speak about them when you sit in your house and when you journey on the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up; (Take every opportunity!)

What? No mention of a place or school to take them to for spiritual education? No, it says "you shall repeat them to your children"!

I was so happy when I read these verses because, truly Bible StorySongs CD's can help you teach your children about the Bible and about God! These songs can be listened to when sitting in your house, running errands or traveling in the car, before going to bed and after waking up! They are full of Bible content and are not too goofy. The tunes are catchy and are happily repeatable. One young mom said it took their family weeks to finish listening their CD because the kids wanted to hear certain songs over and over again.
